Number Base Converter

Convert integers between binary, octal, decimal, hexadecimal and any base from 2 to 36.

How to use

  1. Type a number into any field: binary, octal, decimal, hexadecimal or the custom base.
  2. All other fields update instantly; a leading minus sign is supported for negative numbers.
  3. Copy any result, or read the binary value grouped into 4-bit nibbles below.

Frequently asked questions

How large can the numbers be?

There is no practical limit. The converter uses JavaScript BigInt, so 64-bit, 128-bit and even larger values convert exactly without rounding.

How are negative numbers shown?

Negative numbers keep a minus sign in every base (for example -FF in hex). The tool does not show two's complement, which depends on a fixed bit width.

Can I paste values with 0x, 0b or 0o prefixes?

Yes. The 0b, 0o and 0x prefixes are accepted in the binary, octal and hex fields, and spaces or underscores between digits are ignored.

Which digits are used above base 10?

Letters A-Z represent the values 10 to 35, so hexadecimal uses 0-9 and A-F and base 36 uses all digits and letters. Input is case-insensitive.
